VINTAGE TIN
Wonderful vintage GHIRARDELLI Ground Chocolate key wind tin measuring 5-1/2" tall and 3-1/3" wide.  Featuring a FULL, never opened one pound tin, it bears the GHIRARDELLI name and phonetic spelling above thei iconic open winged eagle logo. Holding GROUND CHOCOLATE AND COCOA ~ MADE IN THE CUP ~ Processed with Carbonate of Potash, back is complete with recipes for frosting, chocolate syrup, and hot cocoa.  Canned by the Western Can Co., S.F., CAL., it is complete with the mounted key on the top - Ghirardelli has been producing this since 1852.
Condition is lovely with very minor paint wear on the front below the "MADE", and a tiny dent at that point - I had a hard time capturing this in the photo and it does not detract - top has typical darkening and patination to the tin from display, but no rust, holes, cracks, etc. Just a striking old GHIRARDELLI Chocolate tin - nice addition to any collection or display!
