    Main Description
    Heljan/Peco 99551 L&B Livery Manning Wardle 2-6-2T 00-9 LOCOMOTIVE No 1362 Exe
    Note below from Peco
The latest models of the ever-popular Manning Wardle 2-6-2T
    locomotives are in stock.
These two represent the modern replica locomotive no. 190 "Lyd" that can be found on the Ffestiniog Railway (and occasionally making star appearances at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway at Woody Bay). This replica was in fact based on the original "Lew", a later-build locomotive ordered by the Southern Railway, and which featured a flat cab back. "Lew" was exported to Brazil after the line closed in the 1930s, and has been the subject of much speculation as to whether or not it still exists somewhere in the far-reaches of the Amazon!
The Southern Green livery of "Lyd" (which is slightly paler, by the way, than the original Southern Green!) is how the locomotive is currently found. The all-over black livery is fictitious, but aimed towards the freelance modeller wishing to use it as a base for their own unique loco.
