"HOTCHKISS / CONGRESS SPRING / SARATOGA, NY" 1860s Water Bottle!
I'm listing some very nice bottles in the coming weeks &this one is no exception. Embossing reads: "CONGRESS & EMPIRE SPRING CO / HOTCHKISS' SONS / C / NEW YORK / SARATOGA, N.Y." all across the face. This is a pint size blown into a two part mold in a deep golden amber colored glass, circa 1860s. Totally loaded with thousands of tiny champagne type bubbles. Reminds me of some of the early Stoddard amber glass but not sure where these were blown. Has an applied top and smooth concave base. Very nice original, attic like condition with no issues, cleaning or repairs. Pretty tough to find these in amber.
