Description
Antique stoneware bottle/jug produced for Georg Kreuzber, a wine merchant from Ahrwiler in Germany. His vines did not grow well, however, and around 1850, he discovered that the cause was the high CO2 concentrations in his soil. This led to another business opportunity in that the CO2 caused the Apollinaris spring on his property to have naturally effervescent water. He began bottling and selling the water around 1850 in bottles such as this one, until his refinery shut down in 1878.
This bottle stands about 11.5" tall and the base is 3.25" in diameter. The bottle has some discolorations/imperfections, which I tried to show as well as I could in the photographs. Please take a look to see the condition and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!!!
