    *Partial Sheet of 20, Gold Coast Overprint Stamps, Featuring Ghana's (1957) Independence, Circa 1952-1954*
    ***Brief Description***
    The stamps are considered 'FINE' by my standards.
    The margins are offset ever so slightly, but are still visible
    There is an extended bow to the stamp as well, but not too, too bad.
    There are 'NO' hinge marks present at this time.
    The overall quality and design aesthetic is outstanding.
    A rare find, indeed
    This is also a partial sheet of 20 stamps with 'NO' numbers present.
    The colors are bold, the picture is clear and the typography is excellent.
    A must have for any collector.
    **Historical Significance**
    In May of 1956, Kwame Nkrumah's Gold Coast Government issued a white paper with proposals for Gold Coast's independence.
    On the 3rd of August, 1956, the Gold Coast assembly adopted the resolution demanding independence from Britain.
    The British Government would eventually agree, but only if the majority of the Gold Coast legislature agreed as well.
    In the 1956, the Gold Coast legislature finally agreed, and in 1957 Ghana became an independent state.
    These stamps commemorate that event with a style that is both symbolic and  conceptual.
    A must have for any collector.
